Welcome to Year 5! This year is an exciting year, packed full of memorable opportunities and the chance for the children to take on important responsibilities in their first year of upper key stage 2. 

 This year the children will continue to develop as independent learners while reaching their full academic potential in preparation for their transition to Year 6. 

 In Year 5 we work hard, respect each other and engage in and enjoy our learning. The year ahead is packed full of exciting challenges.   


Arnold visits Year 5

Hoops 4 Health

On Tuesday 23rd April, Year 5 were visited by two players and a coach from Newcastle Eagles! They played basketball with us and spoke to us about what it takes to become a professional athlete!

Centre for Life!

On Thursday 25th April, Year 5 visited the Science Centre in Newcastle to start our Earth and Space topic! We were lucky enough to learn all about the solar system when we visited the planetarium and we were able to see what the moon looks like from really close up....

Sikh Gurudwara

Last Friday, Year 5 visited the Sikh Gurudwara in Newcastle. Our friend, Cloud Singh, showed us around and answered any questions we had. We all had a lovely time!

Papier Mache Mayan Masks!

Water Safety Y5/6
