Early Years thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Chopwell Woods today!
We had a busy morning packed full of fun alongside our helpful guide Rebecca.
We began our visit by enjoying a sensory walk, classifying and collecting as many different leaves as we could carry before moving on to carry out an exciting natural shape and pattern investigation!
We continued further into the woods to carry out our very own minibeast hunt. The children were very excited to find a small snail, a long worm and a very large slug amongst others!
Rebecca then led us to a picnic area to tell us all about the importance of keeping birds healthy. The children worked in pairs to create their own bird feeders using an acorn, a pipe cleaner, vegetarian lard and bird seed. We are looking forward to hanging these in our garden at school on Monday!
Thank you to all of our adult volunteers who helped make the visit such a success!
