On Tuesday afternoon, Year 2 had a visit from Scott ,a firefighter from Swalwell Fire Station. He discussed safety in homes and the importance of having fire alarms tested every month. He told the children what to do if they discover a fire and they now know  the procedure of: shout fire; get out; call 999; stay out!

Everyone now understands why firefighters wear the different layers of clothing and how the layers protect firemen/women when they are working.

Pupils were given the opportunity to try on items from a firefighters uniform…even Miss McKeown dressed up!
