Reception children have been watching the life cycle of a butterfly in their classroom over the last few weeks . They watched as the tiny caterpillars became big fat caterpillars. They witnessed them hanging upside down and spinning the cocoon (chrysalis) around themselves. After a while, children saw the butterflies emerging from their cocoons. The butterflies will soon be released to lay a new egg on a leaf and the cycle will begin again. Reception children have found this very exciting to watch and a real pleasure to have in class . What an excellent learning experience!
