Year 3 were visited by ‘That History Bloke’ for a half day session all about the Romans. They found out how to say some words in Latin so that they could talk like the Romans and how to march like a Roman soldier following commands from the Centurion.

They then got the chance to handle Roman artefacts such as armour, swords, writing tablets, horns and spears as well as try to identify mystery Roman objects and their purpose.

They got a chance to play Roman games, dress each other in Roman togas, look at Roman pottery and design their own pots and use ink made from honey and blackberries to write messages using the roman alphabet with bamboo pens.
