On Wednesday, 16th September, our Year 5 and Y6 pupils visited Nissan  in Washington . As well as learning about the work of Nissan, they gained first-hand experience of carrying out tasks associated with working on a production line.

Children learnt about Japanese culture, designed a logo, developed skills in the use of production hand tools, and  applied problem solving techniques whilst exploring the Monozukuri concepts of see, hear and discover. Perseverance,  team work, concentration ,co-operation , organisation and reflection were the key skills of the day.

A huge thanks to Karen, Josh and all the staff at Nissan Washington who made this visit a success . Thanks also to Mr Hampson for arranging the visit and to Miss Bell, Mrs McCall and Mrs Anderson for accompanying the children on this worthwhile educational trip.
