On Thursday, Year 1 went to visit the Grace Darling Museum at Bamburgh. They have been learning about her in their Topic and in Literacy lessons. They met Grace’s mother at the museum who told them lots of stories and some of our children  dressed up in costumes. The class looked at some of the things Grace and her family had in the Victorian times – some of them looked, smelt and felt strange. Pupils also went to visit her ornate gravestone in the cemetery. Then it was a picnic on the green below Bamburgh Castle and ice pops on the beach. Everyone had a lovely day and learned  more about Grace Darling as well as having fun in the sun!
