Judo is a dynamic sport based on a combination of balance, co-ordination and reaction. It provides physical fitness and mental stimulation in a fun and exciting way. It is thought to improve: self esteem, confidence, discipline and social skills. Children in Year 2 to Year 6 were able to learn about Judo techniques in a recent Judo taster workshop. The workshop enabled children to try out this Olympic sport for the first time in a fun, friendly and enjoyable way. Pupils worked with a coach to find out more about the sport and gave them the opportunity to try some of the moves for themselves . Feedback from everyone was very popular.
